For Immediate Release Subject: Wine Tasting Benefit for Historical Society of Woodstock Building Fund Contact: Richard Heppner, 914-388-1725 May 31, 2016 Wine Tasting Benefit to Support the Historical Society of Woodstock's Building FundThe Historical Society of Woodstock will host a wine tasting benefit for its building fund on Saturday June 11 from 6:00 to 9:00 pm at the Historical Society of Woodstock building on Comeau Drive. Featuring a wide-variety of wines selected by wine specialists Dr. David Baggett and Tina Grill, all proceeds from the event will go to assisting the Historical Society move towards completion of its building expansion and facility improvement plans, including a new handicap-accessible bathroom, electrical and lighting upgrades, foundation repair and kitchen and storage space. Dr. David Baggett is Professor Emeritus of Agriculture and Environmental Sciences at Modesto College of the Yosemite Community College District in California. Dr. Baggett taught wine evaluation, produced and judged commercial wines, and established and managed a 14 acre vineyard at the college’s instructional farm during his tenure from 1994-2014. Tina Grill is a retired Massachusetts public school teacher of visual arts and was a sensory analyst on the wine evaluation panel at E & J Gallo Winery in Modesto for seven years. The evening's wine tasting will be complemented by a number of special appetizers. Entertainment will be offered by Wild Swan, featuring both Irish and traditional English music. The evening will also feature a silent auction where those in attendance will have the opportunity to bid on such items as: a weekend in a charming Woodstock cottage, art work, Maverick Concert tickets, a case of locally produced maple syrup, gift certificates from local restaurants, and many more Woodstock items. Tickets for the event are $30.00 and are available at the door (reservations are not required for this event). Tickets are also available online by going to www.historicalsocietyofwoodstock.org. Tickets purchased online will be held at the door. In addition to simply enjoying the evening, each person in attendance will receive their own wine glass with the HSW logo featuring Overlook Mountain embossed on the glass. The Historical Society of Woodstock is a 501(c)3 organization and has worked to preserve Woodstock history since 1929. As an all-volunteer organization, the Society relies totally on the support of the community to continue to fulfill its mission.
